Peer Review Process

JMT considers scholarly peer review an essential mechanism for maintaining the originality, reliability, technical quality, and academic relevance of published research.

All submitted manuscripts undergo an initial editorial screening to assess:

  • Relevance to the journal's aims and scope.
  • Originality and scholarly contribution.
  • Technical and methodological soundness.
  • Clarity and completeness of presentation.
  • Compliance with journal submission requirements.
  • Compliance with applicable research and publication ethics.
  • Potential plagiarism, duplicate submission, or other research-integrity concerns.

Manuscripts that clearly fail to meet the journal's requirements may be declined during the initial screening stage.

Manuscripts considered suitable for further evaluation are normally reviewed by at least two appropriately qualified and independent reviewers.

JMT follows a single-blind peer-review process, under which the identities of authors and reviewers are concealed from each other during the review process.

Possible editorial decisions include:

  • Accept.
  • Minor Revision.
  • Major Revision.
  • Resubmit for Review.
  • Reject.

Where reviewer recommendations differ substantially, an additional independent review may be obtained.

The final publication decision rests with the Editor-in-Chief or an appropriately designated editor.

For complete information, please refer to the Peer Review Policy.

Publication Ethics and Research Integrity

JMT is committed to maintaining high standards of academic integrity, transparency, fairness, accountability, and responsible scholarly communication.

The journal maintains policies addressing:

  • Editorial Independence and Governance.
  • Responsibilities of Editors and Reviewers.
  • Authorship and Contributions.
  • Conflicts of Interest.
  • Funding Disclosure.
  • Originality and Plagiarism.
  • Research Integrity and Scientific Misconduct.
  • Research Data and Reproducibility.
  • Human and Animal Research Ethics.
  • Generative Artificial Intelligence.
  • Image and Data Manipulation.
  • Corrections, Retractions, and Expressions of Concern.
  • Complaints and Appeals.
  • Citation Ethics.
  • Confidentiality.

Authors, reviewers, editors, and readers are encouraged to consult the complete JMT Ethics & Policies.

Originality and Plagiarism Policy

Manuscripts submitted to JMT must represent original scholarly work and must not be simultaneously under consideration by another journal.

The journal does not accept:

  • Plagiarism.
  • Inappropriate textual reuse.
  • Duplicate or redundant publication.
  • Fabrication or falsification.
  • Manipulated data or images.
  • Fraudulent authorship.
  • Peer-review manipulation.
  • Citation manipulation.

Submitted manuscripts may undergo similarity and originality screening during editorial assessment.

Similarity is assessed according to the context, nature, location, and extent of overlapping material rather than relying exclusively on a numerical similarity percentage.

Serious concerns may result in manuscript rejection, correction, retraction, or referral to the relevant institution, depending on the nature and stage of the case.

For more information, see the Originality, Plagiarism and Duplicate Publication Policy.

Note: Inclusion in a discovery platform or metadata service should not be interpreted as indexing in Scopus, Web of Science, or another bibliographic database unless formally confirmed by that database.

Digital Preservation and Archiving

JMT recognizes the importance of preserving published scholarly content and maintaining long-term access to the academic record.

The journal uses the Open Journal Systems (OJS) publishing platform to manage and disseminate published issues, articles, metadata, and associated files.

Journal publication files and records are maintained within the publisher's digital infrastructure, together with operational backup and recovery arrangements intended to reduce the risk of accidental data loss.

Where JMT establishes participation in a recognized third-party digital-preservation service, this section will be updated accordingly.

For additional information, see the Digital Preservation and Archiving Policy.
